Target and Clout archery for all

Henry V Agincourt Project

Bringing History to Life

A recent Friday afternoon saw an interesting departure for some of the club members. After recently being contacted by the Deputy Head teacher of Michaelchurch-Escley Primary School, Ledbury Archers were able to help add some colour, detail and excitement to one class’s project about Henry V and the Battle of Agincourt.

On arrival at the club’s shooting ground at Putley the children were greeting by one of the club coaches dressed as a medieval archer. They were then given costumes and armour to put on and try out before facts about Henry’s life  were revealed and the story of Agincourt was retold. During the course of the visit the children  were given the opportunity to shoot arrows under the supervision of the club coach and experienced archers.

Comments from the Deputy Head;

‘”The children had a fantastic time and you really hit the spot with everything you did.

……

Thank you once again, you inspired the children and brought an exciting topic to life!”
